How it all began

From advertising to makeup

Coming from a business world and into makeup has been fantastic training. In my previous career in marketing and later in advertising I was lucky enough to really got under the skin of brands, learn how brands stand out from the crowd and how a brand’s story is its most powerful tool.

The first ten years of my career saw me working for some of the best names in communications including Bloomberg, M&C Saatchi and Publicis (to name but a few) but as I approached thirty I was feeling burnt out. Something was missing. And I couldn’t put my finger on it.

Luckily for me it was my best friend who spotted it and suggested I do a training course in makeup. Almost instantaneously something ignited in me.

The idea to become a business makeup specialist also came from my friends. As word spread that I had retrained in makeup I was suddenly bombarded with questions from friends, many of whom had established careers as solicitors, lawyers and financial consultants…

“Nat, I hear you’re doing makeup now. What would you recommend for me? I don’t really have a clue!”.

The more I spoke to my friends about their makeup for work and their desire to ‘get it right’ the more I realised how powerful the knowledge was that I could impart; my knowledge of business and the buisness world with my knowledge of makeup and branding. And as someone who had been a businesswoman herself I knew instantly what was needed;

Strategic makeup advice…from someone who knows.
